Coburn Place

Our History

Coburn Place welcomed its first residents in December of 1996. Our program is a result of efforts by Channel 6’s Safe Haven Campaign and the Mayor’s Office to address the need for safe, transitional housing that offers supportive services to victims of domestic violence. Our building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, is the former IPS #66 named for Henry P. Coburn. Since opening, we have served 580 women and 842 children. (Last updated 5/1/13.)
