April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and we took the opportunity to honor our friends and the important work they do. Activities included the "Coburn Card" that entitled holders to various treats from merchants throughout the city and a virtual scavenger hunt with clues posted right here on our website. Congratulations to Marcia Reed, the winner of the scavenger hunt! The week conlcluded with a breakfast event on Saturday. Volunteers were pampered by massage therapists (also volunteers!) and Coburn Place staff, who learned how to give hand massages. A light breakfast was served. Thank you to our friends at Constantino's, Einsteins, Starbucks and Paradise Bakery for the goodies! A current resident shared her gratitude for the many ways volunteers have touched her life and helped her achieve success. Her touching words brought tears to the eyes of many as she echoed the sentiments Coburn Place residents present and past. Each volunteer was given the opportunity to create their own quilt square that will soon become part of a bigger piece. Thank you to all our volunteers; you ARE making a difference!
