SURGE IN WOMEN COMPLETING OUR PROGRAM HAS RESULTED IN A CRITICAL NEED FOR HOME FURNISHINGS
Four apartments are now ready for families to move in, but Coburn Place is currently unable to fully furnish those units. The most needed items include: small couches, loveseats, chairs, beds, mattresses/box springs (twin, full and queen), microwaves, silverware, and pots and pans.
Home furnishing donations are accepted at Coburn Place by appointment by calling 317-923-5750.
Coburn Place offers a safe and welcoming home for women and children who are homeless because of domestic violence. Executive Director Julia Kathary said, “With 15 families graduating and moving into safe, permanent housing in the last four months, we couldn’t be more excited to see Coburn Place’s programs making such a huge impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors! As these families set up new and comfortable homes for themselves and 15 new families join us, Coburn Place’s supply of home furnishings has been severely depleted. Our volunteers work hard to furnish and decorate each apartment, but right now we have a critical shortage of furniture and household items.”
Coburn Place is the only domestic violence long-term housing organization in Indianapolis to offer safe and independent apartment housing for up to two years.
