CELEBRATE SUMMER WITH A COOKOUT!!

Coburn Place families, staff and board members were treated to an awesome cookout and summer celebration on July 23. An anonymous donor provided all the food for the event. Keith Wilson, Coburn Place maintenance, manned the grill with his son, Kenny, and Community Resources Coordinators' spouses, Brad Lennon and Kevin Hardie. The guys served up burgers and hotdogs for all. Not surprisingly, the make-your-own-sundae bar was a huge success, too!

Our friends from KMPG, an energetic group of interns, came prepared to help the kids run off loads of energy. They twisted balloon figures, painted faces, tossed beanbags, folded origami, hula hooped and ran races with the kids. Squeals of laughter filled our grounds, and smiles were seen on every child's face.

The women and staff chatted and relaxed, enjoying the perfect weather. Afterward, one of our women came up to Lisa Freeman, Community Resources Coordinator, to give her a big hug. "Thank you so much for the cookout!" she exclaimed. "We all had such a great time." And thanks to our anonymous friend and KPMG interns for sharing a great Coburn Place tradition with us!
