In-Kind Donations Policy
Thank you for your interest in the Coburn Place program. We rely on generous friends to provide in-kind donations that furnish apartments, fill resident’s cupboards, meet resident’s basic needs, and help the agency achieve its mission.
Sorry, Coburn Place cannot accept any item that is soiled, torn, damaged or that creates a financial or administrative burden to the agency. Unfortunately, we do not have funds to repair, clean or dispose of items that are not usable.
On occasion, Coburn Place receives gently-used donations that we are unable to use or unable to use in a timely manner (within six months of donation). Because the facility has limited storage space, Coburn Place partners with community agencies and local businesses to ensure that donations can best meet the mission of Coburn Place and the community’s needs. Coburn Place partners with local clothing pantries and the Salvation Army to redistribute goods that Coburn Place families cannot use. If an item is un-usable by a resident, but could be resold for the benefit of the program, Coburn Place will consign the item through local businesses. Any funds received from the sale of donated items are used to support the Coburn Place program.
Coburn Place will not solicit in-kind donations with the intention of selling them. All donors have the right to request that their in-kind donation not be resold—please contact the Development & Marketing Director (317.923.5750 or marina@coburnplace.org) to discuss your wishes. Thank you.
