Dear Friend,
Anticipation
runs especially high at the start of a new year. 2008 holds exciting
opportunities for Coburn Place and for you -
our supporters!
We invite you to join us for Blue Breakfast - A
Kick-Off for Coburn Place at the Indianapolis Colts
Complex for a fun morning of networking, a special Colts
speaker and, of course, a full breakfast buffet. Home improvement
projects top many to-do lists each year, so with funding in
place, plans are on the table to give our old building a
much-needed makeover later this year. For you, we have
available a limited number of IDA tax
credits, which enable you to take State tax credits
and help our women save for their futures.
In Peace,
Coburn Place Staff

old building will get a much needed
make-over |

Later this year, "pardon our dust" will
become a common phrase heard throughout Coburn
Place. During a major re-hab project, our building
will get a new roof, all new windows, updated HVAC units, an
expanded parking lot and new playground. Over the years,
our staff and program have grown, but our space has
not. We will re-configure existing space to create a new
lobby entrance, a redesigned multi-functional third floor
community room (If you've seen our current furniture, you'll
be as excited as we are!), new office spaces, a larger
computer lab for the women and more versatile meeting
spaces. Watch upcoming issues for updates on the
progress. |

We shared
with you an overview of our econmic education program in our
Winter 2008 print newsletter. (If you happened to miss it, you
can always find it in our archive.) The
program is making a positive impact on our women's
lives. One way is through the Individual
Development Account (IDA) program.
Basically, for each $1 a
woman saves for education, job training, home purchase or
business start-up, she can earn of match of $3 through funds
donated by you and designated to the IDA program. Not
only does this help her reach her goals more easily,
it provides YOU with an Indiana State tax
credit. Donations of $100 or more are eligible
for this benefit. To learn more, download an informational packet.

information, contact Lianne Somerville at lianne@coburnplace.org or 923-5750.
