Dear Friend,
We hope you are having an enjoyable
summer.
It's not too late to get in on the action and
celebrate the season, just like our kids. They recommend going
for a bike ride or cooling off with a yummy ice cream
cone. (Chocolate
chip is a big favorite in these parts.)
In our print newsletter, we told you all about
our children's program.
(If you didn't receive one, you can always read it in
our archive.)
Below, we highlight some of the activities and people
that make our summer camp so special.

We are
fortunate to have so many wonderful partners in the
community who work with our women and children. The
Indianapolis Art Center is one of our
children's favorites.
Miss Jude comes to Coburn Place once a week to
share her infectious enthusiasm for story and art. Each session with our
kids begins with a tale and ends with a corresponding art
project.
Their creativity flows, and you can definitely
see it in the finished pieces. The kids
have produced some amazing works, which are on display
throughout the halls and grounds of our building.
In fact, they're too good not to
share. In case
you can't make it to Coburn Place, we invite you to take a
tour through our online gallery.

Volunteer
opportunity
|
Thursday
evenings are very busy at Coburn Place. All women meet with
their support groups, leaving 45-60 kids in need of
childcare! Ms.
Shawnta and her staff of two are awesome, but they can't do it
alone. They rely
on volunteers to lend helping hands. Our faithful
friends from Common Ground Christian Church
are always here when we need them. Each month,
5-10 church members come to play games, help with homework,
read stories and hang out with the kids on the playground,
while their mothers are attending groups. We couldn't do it
without them.
Many thanks to Common Ground members for their years of
service!
If
you'd like help out, check our volunteers page for more information. |
